Jen & Dennis Engagement Photos

My sister got engaged over the Christmas holiday in 2009 and the proposal was packed full of romance and sentimental touches. Her husband, Dennis, took her to Spy Rock lookout by the small town of Westport. This particular spot held significant meaning to him and his family as they went there regularly with his mother who sadly had passed away a couple years earlier due to cancer. The day he proposed was snowy, cold and the view wasn't that clear but it was still a wonderful moment for the two of them to share. They asked me to take engagements photos for them at the exact spot (when the weather warmed up of course) and I was so excited to capture the beautiful scenery and the two of them in their lovey-dovey state. We spent the day enjoying the view, being goofs and strolling through the small town of Westport. Here are some photos that I shot:

Montreal & 26th Birthday

For my birthday this year Robin took me to Montreal. Surprisingly I had never been there (odd since it's like a right-of-passage for all Ottawa teens to go there to party). It was brutally cold (I'm talking minus 40 cold!) and I had caught a horrible cold (I'm talking laryngitis) but we still made the most of it and tried to soak in as much of the city as possible.

A necessity when visiting Montreal, poutine!

We strolled around Old Montreal at night and saw the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Notre-Dame Basilica, Chinatown and Nelson's Column.
It was really (really) cold but still nice to walk around while the streets were empty.

On the day of my birthday we went for coffees then brunch at Lawrence (as a recommendation by a friend) where we sipped on mimosas and enjoyed an unbelievable meal! I still have flashbacks to how great our meals were! I wish we could have sat and ate there all day but it was a busy spot (I can see why) and we had shopping to do!

We did some driving through Old Montreal to see some of the architecture and stay warm.
And we stumbled upon some fun installations.

That night we toasted champagne by the hotel fire then walked over to Barroco for dinner and had another amazing meal. It was a great birthday exploring a new city and enjoying great conversations, meals and champagne.

Last Fall

Its no secret that Fall is my favorite season. I live for those leaves to change. As much as I'm enjoying summer at the moment I can't help but get excited at the thought of chilly breezes and colourful leaves. Here are some shots of fall I took last year:

Last Summer

While summer may already be here I'm still getting excited for all the patios, sun-soaking, picnics and outdoor fun that will be had. Here are some photos I took last summer:

Many days were spent lounging with the parents in Ottawa.

Enjoying the Air Show.

My loves.

 Sights around Toronto.

Some wonderful summer meals were enjoyed.

Visiting the water park with Bella was a daily occurrence.
Not only was it perfect to cool off but it was pretty amusing too.

And it wouldn't have been complete without some celebrations.
