Easter Weekend

Taking a moment from this busy week to wish everyone a happy Easter weekend. I hope you'll be spending it with those you love and indulging in a delicious feast - or in my case, way too many mini eggs! This time of year always gets me excited (and on a sugar high) for spring time. Hopefully we're done with the snow and cold around here and can focus on the gorgeous spring blooms and fresh treats.

Barbados

Seeing as it still feels like winter and since we are a month shy from our one year anniversary, I thought I'd share our photos from where we got married, Barbados. We stayed at Turtle Beach Resort (known for the sea turtles who return there to lay their eggs each year) located at the southern point of the island. It was a great all-inclusive option with a breathtaking beach and great drinks (they make them strong!) This trip will always be one of my most memorable and favourite trips I've taken. We went for a week with family and friends to relax, soak up some sun and to finish it off, we exchanged vows overlooking the ocean. There were a few moments where I was able to just sit and watch the ones I love enjoying themselves - catching waves on boogie boards, strolling along the beach, passing a beach ball in the pool, or dancing like crazy on a catamaran. Those moments will be with me forever and I'm so grateful for those who were able to join us, it's a far way to go but it was the most perfect way to start this new adventure in our life.

Lisa's Bridesmaid Ask

When I was planning my wedding, I found that I wanted to make certain milestones extra special and meaningful so I made sure to take time to celebrate them. Looking back though, I wish I had thought of the 'Bridesmaids Ask' as a way to spend a day showing appreciation for the ones I love most. Not only is it a nice opportunity to document that significant event but it's also a great excuse to just get the girls together, have some laughs, and drink champagne!

So when Lisa asked me to photograph her Bridesmaids Ask I jumped at the opportunity! The planning and prep she put into this day was evident throughout all the details and personal touches. She chose to have a day designed as a "desserts in the park" affair where the girls could sip some bubbly, munch on delicious treats, and then be presented with a gift from the bride-to-be. Rain forced some of the fun indoors but it still didn't stop these girls from having a blast.
