Toronto Maternity Session: Rebecca + Matt

I am so excited to share this maternity session today! This gorgeous couple welcomed me into their beautiful home with huge smiles to document this special time in their lives. They will be welcoming their baby girl in June and I'm so excited to meet her. Both lawyers, they are the definition of a power couple and I know they will be the most amazing and loving parents ever! When we talked about the type of session they wanted it was clear that this was more than just a maternity session - it was more of a family portrait session with the two of them featuring baby L. We spent the morning laughing and hanging out in their home and then ventured into the cold to take some shots at the ravine near their house.

Happy Birthday to This Guy

Happiest of birthdays to my best friend. To someone who manages to be a voice of reason and logic yet still has such grand fantasies and dreams. To someone who can see the positive in any situation. Who can be so uplifting and fun. Who is just as silly as I am. Who is my biggest fan and cheerleader in life. Someone who in one instant can calm any worry or stress. To someone who is so easy to love.

I hope you know how thankful I am that you're here and that I get to spend each day with someone so wonderful. Without you, I wouldn't be who I am and where I am and I hope that throughout our life together I get to show you the same support that you have always shown me. Happy Birthday!

Spring Begins

It's around this time of year that us Canadians start to itch for warmer weather and longer days. The sun begins to shine a bit brighter, the snow starts to melt, and even the air feels new. Unfortunately, this is usually a transition that takes weeks upon weeks and we end up enduring more cold and snow. But there's something about this time that makes everyone stand a little taller and smile a bit more. Each new sign of spring is a marker of what's to come and you can't help but get excited for all those things you've been without for months. So while I'll always be a big fan of winter, I'm ready to welcome spring and some things I've missed throughout this (ridiculously) cold winter.

Out & About: Winter Cottage

Cottaging is a pastime many Canadians know well. Outside most cities you can take a two hour drive to some of the most picturesque landscapes around. I never grew up with my own cottage but I was fortunate enough to have a close friend who had the best cottage around! It's been a while since I've been so when we decided to rent a cottage a couple weekends ago it reminded me of how amazing cottaging can be. Even in the winter, it's so nice to be outside with nature and unplugged from technology. The days go by slowly and you have time to just sit around and chat with friends, play card games, sip on caesars, walk on frozen lakes and hike the trails.
