I've been on the hunt for a camera bag for a while. I wanted one that wouldn't look like a camera bag, was nice enough to go with outfits at weddings, big enough to store my gear and durable. Enter this lovely bag by Jo Totes! It's a great size and can store my camera body with lens plus two other lenses. It has tons of compartments for my keys, wallet, phone, business cards or snacks! The straps can be removed to change the look of the bag - if I want something a bit more casual or to free up my arms, it's a cross-body bag. Or if I want something a bit 'dressier' I can add on a shoulder strap. The leather is gorgeous and the bag is lined so it's water-resistant. It'll come in handy when I travel as well instead of loosely (and not so safely) shoving my camera in a bulky purse. While one day I may invest in a bigger bag, this one is perfect for right now.

Having Patience
My husband has this style or approach to telling me something that happened or that he heard. He'll basically tell me a story by stating one main point and then nothing else. No reasoning why such thing happened, or how, or the outcome.
Example:
"My friend's dog was attacked by another dog. It was really bad, like insides all out and stuff!"
And that's it!
This bugs me to no end. I am caught so off guard that I have to then ask "Wait! How?! When?! Why?!" and see how this even happened and, in this case, if this dog is alright! He then tries to give me answers to all my questions and gets frustrated with my intense curiosity and need to know everything.
I've asked him before why he tells me things this way. His response is that he usually doesn't know every detail so he just tells me what he does know, which is usually just one big piece of information. And he knows I'm going to ask a million questions anyways so he tries to just give me the most significant detail up front.
I've always had a need to know details and information - this innate need to be prepared and to grasp the whole picture. But I guess I need to let it go a bit. I need to consider that we don't always have all the information but it doesn't mean we won't get it. When it comes to many things, including my husband's stories, I need to have patience and trust that the information being given is all he has and eventually the answers will come. And the same is true with this business that I am always trying to be two steps ahead of. I need to be patient that it will grow and I will learn and I need to let go of needing to know everything all at once. The answers and outcomes will come, so here's to having the patience to let that happen.

YP Holiday Party - Event Session
'Tis is the season for holiday parties! In December I was fortunate enough to photograph the Yabu Pushelberg holiday party and man, can they throw a party! This wasn't your usual sit-down-dinner-sip-on-festive-cocktails type party. No, these interior designers decked out their office and got dressed to kill for a surrealism themed party. Dinner included a three-course meal, plastic lobsters on tables, psychics, contortionists, and each guest looked like someone who walked off an Alexander McQueen runway.
I've posted a sneak peak of these photos on my Facebook page (you can 'Like' my page here and check them out) but I'm only posting the party on the blog. After dinner guests were bused to a warehouse where they were entertained by go-go dancers, strut their stuff walking the catwalk, sang along with a drag queen performer, and danced the night away. It was an insane party and I'm sure Magritte and Dali would be proud.

WedLuxe Show 2014
This past weekend I attended the WedLuxe Wedding Show at the Fairmont Royal York. The theme was springtime in Paris and the decor and details were amazing! I tagged along with Lisa from Lisa Ho Studio who is getting married this summer and we had a blast sampling treats, chatting with vendors, eying gorgeous tablescapes and taking photos of all the pretty! We tackled the hour long line for free shopping (which was definitely worth it!) and then enjoyed tea, coffee and desserts in the La Vie En Rose Cafe. There was so much inspiration it was hard to narrow down these photos! Enjoy all the pretty:
